Saturday's game at Villanova starts a stretch of four games in ten days for Buzz's boys that includes three on the road. They have been playing very well lately but any road game in the Big East is dangerous to say the least.
First up is an improved Villanova team on Saturday (11AM CST on ESPN2) that MU beat by only four points in the Bradley Center on New Year's Day.
A tough Seton Hall team is at the Bradley Center on Tuesday night in the last January game then come road games at two of our oldest rivals, Notre Dame in South Bend at noon on CBS on the following Saturday and DePaul in Chicago on Monday night.
Notre Dame is playing much better than expected with their losses of key personnel due to graduation and injury. And guess what, they're undefeated at home (my mistake-they lost to UConn on Jan 14th at home so they're 11-1 at the Joyce Center) and just recently gave (#1 Big East and #4 nationally) Syracuse their only loss of the year.
DePaul is young and growing under Oliver Parnell who has been a winning coach at his other stops. If we get through the first three it could be what the experts now call a "trap game". MU is a more talented and more experienced team than the Blue Demons but that didn't mean much in the '70's and probably doesn't now either.
GO WARRIORS!!
What was that about 4 points???? Worked like a charm for the rematch…sweet.
ReplyDeleteProbably one of the worst jobs of officiating I’ve watched in some time. Great win on the road. Blue’s free throws were clutch
